willsfla Posted October 2, 2012 Author Report Posted October 2, 2012 Our son lives in Brookline so we're trying to stay as close to Brookline as possible, looking for 4 star hotels.
thereuare Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 ...we're trying to stay as close to Brookline as possible...So does this mean that Copley and Brookline are the only acceptable properties? Any train lines near your son's location that would make travel to Brookline eacy from any other nearby zones? What about to the North in Cambridge West-Harvard?Anything nearby if you put your son's address into MAPS and HOTELS.com? At that site what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for these dates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. willsfla Posted October 2, 2012 Author Report Posted October 2, 2012 Hotwire is showing a 4 star hotel in Copley Sq./Backbay area for $197. It is showing indoor pool, smoke-free rooms, fitness center, pools, restaurants, business center and high speed internet access. Would anybody have an idea what hotel this could be?? I have been bidding on Priceline for Copley Sq. and my last bid was for $225 and that bid was rejected.
AaronJB Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Is this for the same stay as discussed in your other Boston Hotwire thread?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
willsfla Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 Is this for the same stay as discussed in your other Boston Hotwire thread?Yes it is........ I was thinking that this hotel on HOTWIRE could be the Westin.......... but why wouldn't they except my bid on PRICELINE for $225 ??
thereuare Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.I'm not currently seeing a 4* hotel offered for $197 in the Copley zone on HOTWIRE when searching for your dates, but a better question would be why bid as high as $225 when there is a $197 offer on HOTWIRE? ;)Lots of reasons for your possible PRICELINE rejection:PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are two different companies and the inventory on one does not necessarily correlate to the inventory available on the other onethe 4* HOTWIRE hotel may not be the Westin and PRICELINE may rate this same property 3.5*there could be a rate change during the stay and PRICELINE does not always average the rates in the same way that HOTWIRE doesthe rate may not have been available when you made your bidIs the $197 rate still available... if not, why not just take the HOTWIRE offer? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
