choosn Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 We are looking for 3-4* Hotel from 15-20 Oct. in Paris except areas 1, 3, 4, 8 and 15 (see @Priceline for Paris areas).First I tried to bid for 4* Hotels (normally their price starts from $204 till ...).Using your link I placed first $90 for Montparnasse. That was rejected than I added some new areas and increased bids about $5. On the end I selected all my favourite areas and tried $120. All of them are rejected. Same result with 3* Hotels that starts from $174 where I placed my bid first with $60 and end with $100. Now I need to wait 24h to bid again. Before biding I found out that the lowest 40% of retail for selected areas for 4* Hotels was $82 (for 3* $70) . Was it mistake to bid after every rejection with additional area and increased price? What can i do to get best price for known hotels at least for 3*? Please any tipps?

choosn Posted October 2, 2012 Author Report Posted October 2, 2012 Hi theraure,I read allready your message. Thanks. After visiting PRICELINE i would like to bid for following zones:Montparnasse Latin QuarterEiffel TowerChamps Elysees - Arc De TriompheOpera Quarter East and WestSt. GermainMy maximum for 4* hotels is $110 (is that realistic at that period?)What's next step?
thereuare Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 At current rates i don't think that $110 will be enough for a 4* hotel, as well, you have already bid up to $120 at the 4* level in all of these zones, correct? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
choosn Posted October 3, 2012 Author Report Posted October 3, 2012 Yes i tried allready up to 120$ for 4* without success. May it would be better to bid more than $100 for 3*. I can't imagine that people win bids around 80-110 for 4* (in same zones) or I can't bid correctly ;)
thereuare Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 I can't imagine that people win bids around 80-110 for 4* (in same zones) or I can't bid correctly ;)Rates are date specific and can vary greatly from one day to the next based upon supply/demand (ie- vacant unsold rooms) at a given property.Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 4* hotel in the zone(s) you're bidding? What about for a 3* hotel? (you can use the checkboxes to easily filter by star rating as well as click the word 'PRICE' to sort by price)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
