I knew going in that hotel rates would be inflated during this period due to Halloween and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association convention both occurring this week. Spoke earlier with a representative of Treasure Island and was told that 1000 of their rooms were allotted to convention attendees.

I searched and bid through the PRICELINE links here on 9/23. Once on the Priceline site, I went to "My Rewards" and elected to use a $36 bonus cash offer in addition to my bid for a 5 night stay ($7.20 per night).

I started bidding at $83, increasing my bid by $2 for each free rebid. I only wanted the 4* property, so I started completely over each time I bid since both the 4* and 5* were automatically selected on the rebid page after each failed bid. I succeeded after 7 free rebids (thanks to permutations)with a bid of $97 (plus $7.20 bonus cash) for an equivalent total of $104.20 per night. Free rebid zones were Boulder, Henderson, NW Las Vegas, and Nellis.

Room subtotal was $485 plus tax/fees of $79.85--my total cost $564.85. A considerable savings from the lowest offer I had from the hotel itself ($831.42) and about $70 lower than PRICELINE's Express Deal for a 4* in the Las Vegas Strip North area (which I assume is TI as well). Resort fee is $28 which will add considerably to my stay, but it doesn't sting so much now. :)

Thanks to BetterBidding for the skills to find a better deal!
