Priceline Hotel: 5* Amsterdam (City Center) Nh Barbizon Palace

I'm looking to book 1 night - Oct 11, 2012 - in the 5* Amsterdam City Center.

Can anybody help me confirm that I have 2 other rebidding zones? (North and Schipol Airport - both do not have 5* hotels as an option)

You've got quite a distance to go. While sometimes Priceline is a little less expensive than Hotwire, for your date Hotwire currently shows central Amsterdam at $223 for a 5* and $176 for a 4*.

Amsterdam used to be less expensive, but tourism is up, the dollar is weaker and undoubtedly some other factors. There might be an event or holiday?

My advice would be to drop down and bid on a 4 star.

We are seeing a lot of 4 star wins for under $100 USD under $90 USD.

And the 4 star hotels within the center are every bit as well located and IMO just as nice.

Just stick to zone 1 or 2 and the hotel will be in a good location.

Thanks - I was basing my bids based on the 'express deal' for unnamed 5* hotels being sold @ $109.

I'd be bidding in $5 increments in order to get closer to the Express Deal price as quickly as possible... why you continue to bid in $2 increments to potentially save an extra $3, the 5* Express Deal property could disappear entirely which would then likely leaving you with much more expensive options in the future.

If there were other offers close to the 5* Express Deal hotel then it can make sense to bid in smaller increments, but with few hotels (on the surface) offering the same value proposition of this deal, i'd be trying to lock it in sooner rather then later.

The NH hotels I've gotten have had a sleek contemporary style. I liked them.
