dave pass Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Hi,I am looking for a 4* room in North Michigan Ave - River North Area or Millennium Park for the night of 8/20.I'm pretty new to all this, so any assistance regarding a starting point for bidding would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,-dave
thereuare Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! We can suggest a step-by-step bidding strategy for your to follow, but first:1) do you have a maximum bid in mind?2) you'll need to understand re-bidding, which is explained in this thread: PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED. You have two re-bids when bidding the 4* level in Chicago, see if you can figure out which two they are and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm them with the board.Once you're clear on re-bidding and we know your maximum bid we'll be able to help you with a strategy to try. dave pass Posted August 5, 2005 Author Report Posted August 5, 2005 I guess I'd like something under $100. Looks like people have been doing pretty well in the $80-$90 range. The cheaper, the better - obviously. As far as rebid zones go, I believe my zones would be Skokie and Midway as I don't believe they have 4* hotels. Is this on the right track?
thereuare Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 You have your re-bids zones correct and this is how i would bid it...Select 4* NMA...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* NMA and re-bid zone2...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Loop...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* NMA and re-bid zone2...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Loop and NMA...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* NMA and re-bid zone2...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $100.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
