BigBr00 Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 I am attending an event in Chicago on October 1st and would like to book a hotel room for that night in the Millennium Park/Loop area. I would like a 3.5 star or better for under $100 if possible. After checking the rates on Priceline and Hotwire, it seems like rooms in this area are quite expensive that night. I will use your PRICELINE link to place my bids. Any suggestions on how much I should start bidding for?
AaronJB Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding.Unfortunately, $100 for a 3.5-4* is going to be unlikely for these dates, with regular and HOTWIRE rates looking noticeably high for these dates. What would be your desired absolute max bid? Additionally, would River North/NMA be acceptable, or only the Millennium Park zone?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
BigBr00 Posted September 25, 2012 Author Report Posted September 25, 2012 My absolute max bid is $150. I started bidding at $80 for a 3.5* in the Millennium Park zone and kept re-bidding up to $130 with no luck. I am willing to add the River North area, and could also go down to 3*.
thereuare Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 What did you want to try first... adding the NMA-River North zone at the 3.5* level and up to $150 OR lowing your star rating to 3* and trying for only the Loop zone? Please confirm and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. BigBr00 Posted September 25, 2012 Author Report Posted September 25, 2012 I'd rather lower the rating to 3* first to stay in the Loop zone. If that doesn't work then I will add the River North zone as well. Thank you for your help!

BigBr00 Posted September 26, 2012 Author Report Posted September 26, 2012 Well I bid up to $155 for 3* in both Millennium Park and River North area with no luck. Decided to take a look at Hotwire. Saw this deal and jumped on it. Excited to stay at the Doubletree. Amenities listed: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access.
