medstudent Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 HelloI am in need of a cheap hotel from 9/23-9/28 ideally 2.5+. I dont want a 2 * extended stay hotel they seem a bit scary. I am just wondering if you know the best location/suburb for around 40-45 per night. Thanks for any info!
AaronJB Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Are you driving in or flying in? Do you need to be downtown (in terms of the purpose of the stay?) If you are driving in that opens up a lot more possibilities.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
medstudent Posted September 22, 2012 Author Report Posted September 22, 2012 Hey AaronThanks for the fast reply. I am driving in and will be working in south chicago for the week (woodlawn area), but dont mind 45 + minute commute if it is cheaper for rent vs gas vs SAFETY lol. Thanks
AaronJB Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Thoughts/ideas:$40-45 a night may be a little difficult for these dates, which somewhat busy downtown and unusually busy in some of the suburbs. The best outlying suburban location would likely be the Downers Grove/Oakbrook area, which is a very nice area - I think trying at the 2.5* level for $45 is probably your best bet, as rates are unusually high and if $45 is your max, that's worth trying but it may be (hopefully not) a bit short. I'll note that 9/23-25 is cheaper in the Oakbrook/Downers Grove area (9/25-28 and especially 9/26-28 are noticeably more expensive), so you may have better luck for those dates alone at the 2.5* or 3* level and then you would have to move to another hotel in a nearby area for 9/25-28.The other zone nearby would be the Willowbrook-Burr Ridge zone, which would hopefully accept at the 2.5* level in the $40-45 range for the 9/23-28 period. You could also try $40-45 at the 3* level in the Midway Airport zone. That area would put you close to CTA transit at the airport, but some properties in this zone may charge for parking and there's not a whole lot around the airport. Please let us know if you have any questions before bidding.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
