ElPal Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Hi,I'm interesting in 2 hotels in Sydney through hotwire. Please help me to figure out which hotel is it.5* Sydney City Center area hotelCheck in date: 2013.02.08Check out date: 2013.02.09People : 4Rate: USD$282Amenities:Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access As a Sydney-sider I thought I'd take a look. I am not seeing a 5* with the same price and amenities as you have listed. However, I see that you are 4 people - are you looking for 2 rooms? I have only done a search for a single room for double occupancy.I am seeing a 5* City Centre area hotel for your dates with the following amenities:Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services The tripadvisor rating is 4.0 out of 5.This has a rate of USD250 per night. This is a match by narrowing down on HOTWIRE for both the Swissotel (which has been reported with these amenities ans is on the BB Hotwire Hotel List) and the Hilton Sydney.I note that the standard HOTWIRE rate for the Swissotel is also USD250 per night which is the same price as the Secret hot Deal which makes me think that it wouldn't be this property. That said, it could also be the Hilton Sydney. Both of these hotels are right in the centre of the CBD - the Hilton Sydney is opposite the iconic Queen Victoria Building and the Swissotel Sydney is on Market Street (around the corner from the Hilton) and right near Pitt Street Mall.4.5* Darling Harbour - Chinatown area hotel Check in date: 2013.02.08Check out date: 2013.02.09People : 4Rate: USD$209Amenities:Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center Again, searching for one room for 2 people I found a 4.5* Darling Harbour - Chinatown area hotel with the following amenities:Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking If you click on "see all amenities" you may see more than those you have listed above. I am guessing this is in fact the same hotel with a few more amenities and a $1 price difference. It has a rate of US$208 per night.I think that this is probably a match for Citigate Central Sydney based on the amenities, the Tripadvisor rating and the location on the map. I note that this is not an exact science and no hotels for this area have yet been reported to the board so it is possible that it is another hotel.Again, this is the exact same rate on the standard rates part of the HOTWIRE site. Please ensure that you use the site's links for PRICELINE and HOTWIRE and let us know what you end up doing for this stay (even if you decide to book through alternate channels).

ElPal Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 As of May, the Sydney Marriott is Sydney Pullman. Hyde Park so this is not a new hotel, just a rebranded and renamed one.http://www.spicenews.com.au/2012/05/22/article/WUWGTMCOMD.html
