Hi everyone. I wanted to book the Venetian for the nights of September 21st and 22nd. Unfortunately, while we were deciding whether we should wait for a new deal through the Venetian's web site, they put the prices up by a significant amount.

The prices through the Venetian are as follows;

Duration of 2 nights, starting 21st Sept - Total = $598

Duration of 1 night each - 21st = $239, 22nd = $399. Total = $638

Problems with bidding on PL for Vegas:

1 Inventory usually comes available to PL in the last few weeks ( if not days) so bidding later is usually better.

2 Friday-Sunday are busy in Vegas due to weekend gamblers

3 Conventions in the city can reall fill particular hotels.

4 Promotions from the Hotel web-site can be cheaper than PL bidding.

You do realise that with PL you cannot guarantee you'll get a particular hotel??

The Bellagio has come up before (though not as often as) the Venetian as the 5* on the strip.

I assume this

It seemed to be a one-off thing, to be honest. It's the first time I've tried Priceline, so I wasn't really able to differentiate at the time. I just saw the figure and thought "Forget it..." But it was less than the rate they offer through their normal hotel selection.

As we're staying on a Wednesday and a Thursday, I had thought the rates would stay low, but there must be a big convention nearby.

I'm aware that the Venetian isn't guaranteed, but if the price is right we wouldn't mind Bellagio either. It's just that we're staying there at the beginning of our trip, and would like to end it at the Venetian. If we can't get a decent price, we'll probably just book the Venetian and spend two days resenting the place :)

How about $255/nite and cancellable (up until 72 hours before check-in date): Venetian.

Thanks, though I had hoped we could get it for a more reasonable price. We've got the Bellagio for a couple of weeks earlier for about $200 a night including taxes, so I have to admit that I'm surprised by these prices. Many thanks for responding, though.
