Yo Billy Bob Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Hi, my wife and I are headed to NYC to celebrate our 40th birthdays. My parents will join us for a few nights, but as I understand, it's best to book 2 rooms as a room for 4 is highly unlikely. So, my sense is to book 2 rooms for Oct 8-12 and 1 room for 12-15.Ideally, would like something at a 3* or more for $150 (not including taxes) in Manhattan.I have stayed at the 2.5* Hampton Inn 35th st and it was decent, so would be fine with something like that as well.Would be ok with anything in Manhattan.Too early to start bidding? A few posters have suggested waiting till closer to the arrival. How close?Any advice is appreciated.

AaronJB Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 This is generally a busy period in NYC, and with only a little over a couple of weeks to go, I'd suggest starting to plan and bid now rather than waiting until the last minute.Which zones would be acceptable for this stay? While it's going to depend on the zone and star rating, $150 unfortunately would appear unlikely for these dates, given the higher rates I'm seeing on HOTWIRE and elsewhere.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Yo Billy Bob Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 I'd be open to really anywhere in Manhattan. Which tend to be the more reasonable areas to stay in?
MaartenG Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Hi Aaron, what do you think is likely price for a six night stay during mid-October, 2 rooms? We've gone up to $180 (albeit 3 stars) and still nothing. We've also done up to $150 in multiple zones for 2 stars.
