Hi!

I am looking for a hotel room for one night, Oct 2nd to 3rd. This is our first wedding anniversary, therefore I would like to bid for a 4* hotel.

Preferred Zones are:

TSQ, ESB, MTW, MTE, MSG, CPS, Chelsea, Hells Kitchen

Budget would be $150 excluding tax, if possible.

Saw some winning bids on the Waldorf Astoria for about §150, would be great to score this hotel (my hubby has always dreamt of staying there...).

Any bidding advice? It's not my first time bidding, I'm familiar with rebid zones and of course will use your PRICELINE link.

Thanks!

Based upon current rates I'm doubtful that $150 will be enough for a 4* hotel for this nite, but to give it a try:

At the 4* level in NYC you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* TS, ESB, MTW, MTE, MSG, CPS, Chelsea, HK...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150

Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru conventional booking channels?

The best rates are at about $360 a night, for a 3 - 3 1/2 star level hotel (Ramada Plaza New Yorker, Affinia Manhattan, St Giles the Court).

Think I need to lower my star level for my bid.

Just saw, that prices dropped for the nights before my stay. Is the tuesday night in New York always more expensive?

Thanks

Rates are date specific and can differ substantially from one day to the next. Generally speaking, rates in NYC are least expensive on Sunday nites, then Friday and Saturday, then Mon-Thur.

However, as noted above, $150 just isn't likely realistic for this this time of year (and more specifically for this nite). The best rate you were able to find for a 3.5* property is $360 and you're bidding less than half that for a 4* hotel.
