hopeland Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Taking one for the team...I am pleased to report the first ever Hotwire win on BetterBidding.com for Tokyo. (I seriously can't believe no one has ever reported Tokyo before.)Hotel: The Prince Sakura Tower TokyoRating: 4.5Location: ShinagawaAmenities Listed: noneI had guessed that this was going to be The Strings by Intercontinental, but that didn't pan out. There was a 4.5* in Minato for $211, which I assumed to be the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay.There was a 4* in Shinagawa for $146, which I assumed to be one of the other Prince Hotels, either the Grand Prince Takana or Grand Prince New Takana. That hotel also had no amenities, so that's more evidence that it's a Prince hotel. All of the Prince hotels are in in the same complex set amidst a huge traditional Japanese garden. It looks like a spectacular setting. Also the rooms are reported to be spacious, especially by Tokyo standards, so I'm pretty pleased with that.A similar non-refundable rate is available through other retail OTAs/GDSs, so not such a big savings. Would have been a huge savings if it had been The Strings, which is why I took the plunge.
