Hello Admin,

We are a group of four planning a trip to vegas between 10/26 to 10/30

I went through earlier posts and decided upon the split strategy as 26th and 27th are wednesday and thursday..

It seems $ 99 should be good enough for 5* as some earlier posts suggested.

I want to know what is a decent bid for a 4* hotel

Thanks,

Prasad

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Normally you wouldn't need to split your bids for a Wed-Friday stay; however, rates for these dates are expensive at the Venetian and based upon current rates you're not likely to have success at $99 (it will likely take much more than this).

Vegas is often not a great Priceline area except at the 5* level, especially if location is important to you (see this thread for more details: Las Vegas and Priceline)

You didn't mention your budget, but the Monte Carlo can be had for $110/nite and i think it's a great property and location, with an excellent pool.

How does the above work for you needs and expected budget?

Let us know your thoughts and/or what you decide to do.

Thanks for replying back.

Budget: We were looking at somewhere around 60$ - 75$ for a 3 1/2* or 4* and around $100 for 5* hotel.

I checked the link for Monte Carlo that you sent me but it shows 170$/nite.

I was searching on internet yesterday for a decent deal and I bumped into this...

Hotels.com/property.do?mtnHotelID=280208&page=info&numadults=4&numchildren=0&numrooms=1&CIDay=26&CIMonth=10&CIYear=2005&CODay=28&COMonth=10&COYear=2005&z_property=&gds=3&thisPageNumber=1&roomOccupancyString=1||4|0|0&qKey=null&roomTypeCode=1943"]link

Do you think it's any good... or do you recommend me bidding on hotwire...

Thanks,

Prasad

That link leads me to the Hilton Las Vegas (thru Hotels.com, which we are an affiliate of so please use our link if you choose to book thru them).

The Hilton is not on the strip and therefore not comparable to the other hotels talked about.

Are you searching for more than 2 people per room? If you use the Monte Carlo link and only search for two people you will see a rate of $110.

For a strip hotel that is 3.5* or 4* rated i don't think you'll find anything in the $60-$75 range.

Yes

I'm looking for a room for 4 people. Would it be legal if I book it for 2 and then have 4 people in the room.

I'm ready to increase my budget. please suggest a good 4* hotel on the strip.

Thanks,

Prasad

Booking a room for two and having more people stay is done every day, although technically against the 'rules'. It's up to you if it's something you feel comfortable doing.

Most Vegas hotels charge an extra $15-$30 per person per nite, so for us to advise you going forward you'll need to make a decision if booking a room for two when you're really quad occupancy is something you're comfortable with.

Hotwire has a 4* in the North strip zone for $123/nite, which if you match up the amenities to those in our HOTWIRE HOTEL LIST appears to be the Aladdin.

The hotel will soon be undergoing a transformation and will become a Planet Hollywood (read more about it here: Aladdin to Become Planet Hollywood), but regardless of renovations it has a very good strip location and the price is right.

If the renovations scare you away, there is also a 4* on the South Strip which appears to be either the MGM or NYNY for $143, but i'd sooner take what is believed to be the Aladdin.

All of the above appear when searching for 4 adults in the room... your prices may differ slightly.

Thanks for replying.

I checked Hotwire for prices...

I'm getting 137$ for 4* on north strip but when I go to finalize it adds extra charge for 2 persons so total comes close to 700$ for 3 nights..

but there is one 3.5* hotel near strip east for 95$. total is 318 including taxes.

Selected amenities include:silkHotAmenities0: Suite, Airport Shuttle, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Golf Nearby

Is this Atrium Suites..? Do you recommend it?

near strip east.... for a trip to Vegas you want to be on the stip, not near it.

I'm not confused :) ... what are the dates of your stay? The title suggests 2 nites (10/26-10/28, which is what i've been checking for), but your first post in this thread suggests 4 nites (10/26-10/30), now your post above mentions a 3 nite stay??

Sorry for the confusion!!

I'm looking for 10/26, 10/27, 10/28 and ON the strip.

Budget is 130-140 per night including the extra charge for 4 people.

Thanks for help and patience.

You're now out of the ballpark... including a Friday nite, and requiring quad occupancy, leaves nothing within your price range.

The quad occupancy is adding $30-$60/nite onto the cost of your room (almost half of your budget on the high end).
