cdae26 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 I'm feeling very overwhelmed even though I feel like I've read 50 hours of information. Not sure where to even begin. I'd like a room for November 9-10 somewhere in NYC or the surrounding areas, I guess, if it's easy to commute in. We're pretty set on 3 stars or higher for the safety issue. I don't care about location except for safety. Any advice/help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Unfortunately, this period is often generally quite busy due to holiday shopping.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

cdae26 Posted September 14, 2012 Author Report Posted September 14, 2012 Okay, I read my messages and clicked both links. As far as desired budget, I have no idea. I guess $150 would be the max, is that reasonable? We are willing to do 2.5 stars as well.
thereuare Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 Rates are actually somewhat less than i would have thought, but this is NYC, so they're still not 'cheap'.In terms of cost, location, star rating, etc. what are the priorities for this trip? For example you could have a centrally located 4* hotel in Midtown for a bit passed your current budget, likely somwhere in the $170-$190 area... a 4* hotel 'downtown' in the $160-$180 area, or a 4* hotel in Jersey City (outside of the city but easy to commute to the city via PATH train) for $145/nite. If cost is the primary factor you may be able to shave ~$20 off the price and get something in midtown for $140-$160 at the 2.5* level, but not sure if saving $20 is worth the substantial downgrade in star rating.Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
