rmpenland Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Need a bidding strategy for Boston for Nov. 6-8. Would like at least a 3.5 star hotel in the Copley Square / Back Bay area for no more than $150/night. Is it too early to start bidding? Being almost 2 months out where should I start the bidding? Any advice you can offer is much appreciated!

rmpenland Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 I think because we still have some time the goal at this point would be the least expensive 4* hotel in the Back Bay / Copley Square area.
thereuare Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 At current rates i don't think that $150 will likely be enough for a 4* hotel in this zone, but if you want to give it a try:At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Copley Square-Back Bay...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Any questions feel free to ask. While i don't know if it will help i would also consider adding other nearby zones that may be acceptable to your bidding, such as Beacon hill, Quincy Market, and/or Boston Common. If Copley Square is the only zone that you're willing to accept, i'll add that HOTWIRE has what i'm guessing to be either the Hilton or the Sheraton in the Copley zone for $163/nite, should this be of any interest. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
