Priceline Hotel: Help with 3.5 or 4 Star in SoHo/Tribeca 12/1-12/4

I am traveling to NYC on 12/1-12/4. I would love to stay in SoHo, just two adults. I started low ($150) and have worked up to $250 bid with no luck.

I know this is an expensive time of year (from reading other posts), so do I need to try other areas, or go for a 3.5 star?

Our budget: I'd love to not exceed a bid of $250 per night. I am open to other zones, but do prefer SoHo.

If you have already bid up to your limit then you can either:

1) wait it out and hope for lower prices in the coming weeks

2) raise your bid (you say not an option)

3) add other zones

4) lower your star rating

Between #3 and #4 it depends upon what is more important to you for this stay... a 4* property or the Soho location. I do think that you can get a 4* hotel at/near your $250 bid if you add other zones such as MTE, MTW, TS, CPS and ESB.
