Priceline Hotel: Please help with a bidding strategy!

We need a hotel for a precruise stay in Miami for 10/29/05. We would like to be near Bayside Marketplace and prefer 3*. Last cruise we booked last minute couldn't use priceline and stayed at an awful Comfort Inn Airport. We could use some good advice. Thanks Linda

I'll assume you're ideal zone is the Downtown zone... can you accept a hotel anywhere within that shaded region?

Anywhere in the shaded area downtown would be ok. We would be able to go as high as $90.00 if needed. We paid $87.00 for the crappy place we stayed in February.

You have two re-bids at the 3* level, four re-bids at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board. This is how i would bid, assuming that lowest price is more important than a 4* vs. a 3*.

Select 3* Downtown...

Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $60, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Downtown and a re-bid zone (a 4* re-bid zone, not which you used in 3* bidding)

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80.

I used the 3* Downtown strategy and was not successful. I will wait 72 hours and try the 4* strategy. I'll let you know what happens. Linda

You don't need to wait 72 hours (if you bid as posted) if you want to try the 4* strategy now.
