speedersse Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Hi,we're looking forward to stay in SFO in March 2013. Last time we were very lucky and got the BW Tuscan Inn @ Fisherman's Wharf for 75$ per night as we booked about 7 months in advance with some bonus cash. We'd love to stay at the Wharf again (no matter what hotel as long as it is 3* or above) so Im looking for a bidding strategy for a max of 120$ per night.I've read the re-bidding post and I understand how it works. The other zones we can accept are: Embarcadero/Financial District and Union Square East + West.speedersse
thereuare Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.Did you want to first only bid the Fisherman's Wharf zone up to your limit OR is your goal the least expensive hotel at your desired star level in any of the Fisherman Wharf, Financial District, USE or USW zones? Also, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. speedersse Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 Hi,we'd like to start by bidding up to our limit for a 3* @ Fisherman's Wharf (or even 2.5* as I recently read the BW Tuscan Inn sometimes is labeled like this). So our goal is the least expensive 2.5* or better @ FW for this trip.Of course I'm using your PRICELINE links for booking.speedersse
thereuare Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 we'd like to start by bidding up to our limit for a 3* @ Fisherman's Wharf (or even 2.5* as I recently read the BW Tuscan Inn sometimes is labeled like this). So our goal is the least expensive 2.5* or better @ FW for this trip. The last known report of the Best Western Plus Tuscan Inn is that this property is 3* rated by PRICELINE and i believe this to still be the case... do you therefore want to try for the least expensive 3* or better in the Fisherman's Wharf zone for this trip? Then if that is rejected try for the 'downtown' zones? Also, with time before your stay do you only want to bid the Fisherman's Wharf zone at this time and even if rejected continue to bid only this zone for the next few months? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. speedersse Posted September 10, 2012 Author Report Posted September 10, 2012 Thank you for this information. But a 2.5* would be okay as there seems to be only the HIE.So for now we want to try the least expensive 2.5* or better only @ FW.
thereuare Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 At the 2.5* level you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 2.5* Fishermans Wharf...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try once again starting with a PRICELINE link on the board: $105/$110If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try once again starting with a PRICELINE link on the board: $115/$120Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. speedersse Posted September 11, 2012 Author Report Posted September 11, 2012 Got the Holiday Inn @ Fisherman's Wharf (not the HI Express) for 120$.Total for two nights is $286.38. Not a big deal, but saved us about 12€
speedersse Posted September 11, 2012 Author Report Posted September 11, 2012 I started with 115$ for 2.5* and then added 3* for 120$ which was accepted. The total is $286.38 (224€). Best Hotwire 3* offer @ Fisherman's Wharf: 326$ / Best broker offer: 298$. Not a big deal but it's always fun to bid @ priceline ;)
