ExcitedNYC Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Hi There, I am in search for a bidding strategy on priceline in Manhattan, areas I would like to stay are Midtown East, Times Square and Central South, What is a good initial bid for these areas? What trends has everyone seen in price? Have bids under 300 been accepted for this time of year? Thanks so much!!Also does anyone have any recommended tourist activities?
ExcitedNYC Posted September 11, 2012 Author Report Posted September 11, 2012 also I am looking for 4* hotels only, traveling with my parents so would like a nicer place to stay but for the right price
AaronJB Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. This is (traditionally) one of the most expensive times of year in NYC. Are you looking for more than one room, or will it be 3 in one room? If you need more than one bed, I'd suggest going with HOTWIRE, where you can indicate more than 2 adults and ensure some form of bedding for the entire party, vs PRICELINE, where one bed is the likely result.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 In addition to the information above, what is your expected budget per nite for this stay? Also, if you haven't yet, please read your messages.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Some properties - even at higher star ratings - may offer rooms not big enough for a rollaway. In terms of not finding what you are looking for on HOTWIRE, what in particular are you looking for?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ExcitedNYC Posted September 11, 2012 Author Report Posted September 11, 2012 yes fees included, ooo i see, We are looking for two double beds or two queen beds, (6 of us traveling) I looked at hot wire, but I am not sure if I am guaranteed 2 beds on their mystery options.... is that how it works with HOTWIRE?
AaronJB Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 If you search for 3-4 adults on HOTWIRE, you should get bedding for the entire party - that could mean 2 beds, 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed. With PRICELINE, you can call the hotel to request bedding after booking, but the hotel could say no or charge more. In NYC, where rooms with two beds often go for a premium, using the service in NYC will highly likely result in one bed - some users have reported hotels even unwilling to take the difference between a one and two bed room as an upgrade fee. There is no way to select or guarantee particular bedding with either service - HOTWIRE listings occasionally offer "bed choice", but this isn't common.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to star your purchases and searches.
