travelingWise Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 On Kimpton's site, lowest rate was $99Pretty sure it came up on Hotwire at $89 (4.5*)Needed 2 rooms.Began bidding at $55 - rejectedAdded Milipitas $61 - rejectedAdded Redwood City $70 - accepted I know I may have left a few bucks on the table, but only saw one more rebid coming.Although I was a tad disappointed at how their website sort of misrepresents the public areas (the "colonade" faces the parking area where you drive in and the lobby picture makes it seem much bigger), the rooms were beautiful and VERY comfortable! If I get more time, I'll write a full review to post. Overall, I think we got a great deal and highly recommend Cypress - especially to business travellers.
travelingWise Posted August 9, 2005 Author Report Posted August 9, 2005 I was hoping to get the Hotel Los GatosOn their site, the best rate was $209.Began bidding on 4* at $85 - rejectedadded Ben Lomand $96added Morgan Hill $111New browser session, began with Los Gatos and Ben Lomand for $116 (I'm not sure why/how, but I was able to rebid in less than 72 hours) - was rejected againadded Morgan Hill $121 - still rejected and it popped me out to the "other travel deals" page. Decided to go for something further north, leading me to the Cypress in Cupertino. Maybe I'll try this one again sometime since the hotel looks beautiful!
thereuare Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Thank you for sharing your win with the board."Website misrepresentation" is commonplace (not just in the hotel industry) but is the reason we started our sister site RealHotelPhotos.com. If you took any pictures of the property please post them at our sister site that we can continue to build a database of accurate hotel photographs. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
