Priceline Hotel: Las Vegas Advice Please

Hello;

I need a room for Las Vegas, Sept 29th. It is still about 2 weeks away. I threw in a few bids (I don't usually do this, but it is quite a bit in advance, so I tested the waters) up to $131 for a 5*. I have no issues with 4*'s and will bid them later. So, my questions are:

1) For that night, what would be a good starting bid for a 4*, and,

2) What would be the best time to start looking for hotels for that date. i.e. is there a trend for properties to put the rooms up, i.e. a week in advance, 3 nights in advance, etc?
