Priceline Hotel: Resort Kauai (Poipu - Koloa) Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort And Spa

After reading reviews and looking at Pinned Hotels my wife and I decided on the Grand Hyatt in Kauai and luckily it was the only resort in both Poipu and Princeville (Free Rebid).

Used the PRICELINE link form here and began my bidding a few days ago at $150 as I saw on the calendar of wins someone had won at 160 for earlier in the week. Used my rebids in $5 increases when I reached 210 I got the request to increase my bid to $262, knew I was getting close and kept with the $5 increases. Finally won at 230, not the 160 that was reported earlier but still a great deal cheaper then the 287 advertised everywhere else.

Hyatt is nice..but my question to you..is they are advertising the place for about 280-290s right now..at what price point would think you that earning the hyatt points would be better just to reserve the room thru hyatt.com

Don't know enough about the Points program to answer, but I typically bid when I travel so loyalty programs don't really work for me. But I saved at least $50 x 5nights savings of $250 dont know how many points but Im guessing a lot.
