We bid over several days:

- $51, $61, and $66 were rejected

- After the $66 bid, we were given the option to increase price $10 and rebid without having to wait 24 hours and without having to change stars or areas (minimum of $76 bid). We declined.

- The next day we bid $71 and it was accepted. The bid was accepted two days before our travel.

We did not add an area -- Arcata -- because we have to be in Eureka. We did not change stars as the two star hotels in Eureka are really, really crummy and we didn't want to risk being stuck in even more of a dump.
