YogiSajnani Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 HI,I need a good 4* or 5* in new york city. I am traveling on 25th September till 1st October. Preferable areas:Midtown WestCentral ParkTimes Square areaIf you suggest anywhere else close by to these, I don't mind having a look. Maybe a little quieter area if you can suggest yet close by.I would appreciate it. First time bidding.Regards,Yogesh
AaronJB Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I've also found the Midtown E area to be an enjoyable place to stay, as well, and would definitely be a quieter option not far from TS. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
YogiSajnani Posted September 4, 2012 Author Report Posted September 4, 2012 Hi,Thanks for your reply. I would be comfortable paying upto $350 dollars per night. Not sure though is it enough and good enough. I saw some on booking.com which fit in my range but honestly the quality of the 4* for that price and the reviews do not sound good to me.Does priceline have a better brand of hotels, can you help how to go about it?
YogiSajnani Posted September 4, 2012 Author Report Posted September 4, 2012 Hi,I am looking to travel to New York City from 25th Sep to 1 October and was looking at Hotwire.com (through your link) and I wanted help in knowing which hotel would i probably get. Is there a trick or a way to guess:Below is the list I am considering:Times Square - Theatre District area hotel$341.00 per room, per nightAmenities:Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blind Midtown Central area hotel$445.00per room, per nightAmenities:Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Spa ServicesMidtown East Area hotel$346 per nightAmenities:Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blindMidtown Central area hotel$334.00 per roomAmenities:Boutique Hotel, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Free InternetCan you help me how do I know or what should I do?Regards,Yogesh
thereuare Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 ...the quality of the 4* for that price and the reviews do not sound good to me.Without knowing the hotels you're referencing it's unknown how these hotels compare to what you may get on PRICELINE... or if these are the very same hotels you could possibly receive thru PRICELINE. At a better price would these same hotels be acceptable... or do the hotels simply not live up to your standards regardless of how good of a deal the property is?Do keep in mind that you're coming to NYC during one of the most expensive times of the year, which will likely inflate room rates in an already expensive market. You can see hotels that others have won thru PRICELINE within each zone and star rating in this Priceline Hotel List. However, if quality is the most important factor for this stay then you may want to consider HOTWIRE where you can often use the amenities shown before the purchase to make an educated guess as to what you receive, as well as often see TA ratings and ratings from previous guests of the hotel which can give added confidence that you're receiving a well reviewed hotel. The trade-off is that that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.EDIT TO ADD: please keep all posts for this stay in the same thread. I have merged your topics into this thread. Let us know your thoughts on how you'd like to proceed for this trip and we'll then either suggest a PRICELINE strategy or look at the HOTWIRE properties above. Thanks. But would appreciate any help. I have listed a few properties above in the 4* and 5* categories. Is it possible to get an idea which properties are those from the amenities? Please help if you can. Thanks,Yogesh

AaronJB Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 phureal,Welcome to Betterbidding. Please start a new thread with the details of your stay and we would be happy to assist - this is a busy time in NYC and a higher star rating for that long a period may be difficult for under $200. Are you willing to stay anywhere within UES/UWS?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
YogiSajnani Posted September 12, 2013 Author Report Posted September 12, 2013 Apologies for the late reply. But I ended up using PRICELINE to bid. For $310 dollars I got Millienium Broadway.
