Hotwire Hotel: Buffalo, NY for October 25 -28 hotwire

Should I bid on a hotel in Buffalo, NY for October 25 -28 now or should I wait until the time gets closer. Moreover, I see that hotwire has a 2.5* (Comfort Suites) available for downtown Buffalo for $76, if I wait until the time gets closer what are the chances the price will get cheaper on hotwire. I understand that it also depends on supply and demand.

P.S:

The Bills do not have a home game that weekend which could influence the price.

Purchase timing is discussed in detail in the FAQ. There is no way to know for sure if rates will come down closer to your dates. While no games going on is a positive, if there is anything else going on (convention, etc), there is the possibility that rates could go higher.

It all depends upon supply and demand, and not even the hotel knows the future demand for these dates (although they do try to predict future demand and price rooms accordingly). With rates at $76 this doesn't sound like a very high demand weekend at the moment, so the question is how much of a discount would you currently need in order to make locking in a non-refundable purchase worthwhile?
