Tara W Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Hi!I'm new to this board and hope someone can help. We're trying to get a room in DC from Sunday, September 9th til Tuesday the 11th via Priceline. We'd be happy with either the White House area or the Dupont Circle area and have bid up to $110. We see others posting wins in this range and below and are wondering what we're missing. Is there a bidding strategy that might help us? I'd say we'd be willing to go a little above $110 but it's a little bit of a gamble as we'll need a crib for our 11 month old and realize that won't be guaranteed until after booking. Thanks for any feedback you can provide for a newbie trying to save a little money! We'll be sure to use the links here to bid.
AaronJB Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)You are not doing anything wrong - the issue is that PRICELINE bidding is completely date-specific, and wins for other dates do not reflect what it may take for yours. These dates are unfortunately on the busy/expensive side and $110 in these dates is unfortunately going to be unrealistic/unlikely (HOTWIRE only has one listing in each of the above zones, a 3* for around $260.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
