bcasher Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 New to the forums but have read around and have a slight grasp on the bidding procedures in Boston. I use Priceline pretty often (and usually very successfully) but never realized there was this much of an art to it. We're need a hotel room for one night, Friday - Sept 21. Prices are pretty high ($250+) for most of the 3-4 star hotels in the zones we're interested in. Those zones are 1-4, 8, 12. We are on a very tight schedule for sight-seeing and we're flying out the following Saturday at 4:30pm. We want to do the trolley tour starting Friday a little after Noon and then again on Saturday morning until Noon. The idea is to find a hotel on the east side of downtown so we can leave our bags there until we get ready to go to the airport a little after 1pm. The further we are from the airport, the less time we'll have in the morning to finish up. It isn't ideal, but my boss arranged the flights and this is all we have to work with!Any ideas on what zone to hammer down on? We were hoping for something a little over $100. We could drop down to 2.5 stars but even then it will be tough I know. The best rate I found on the MAPS and HOTELS site was $254 (Hyatt Regency). Would it be better to do it closer to the date we want?
AaronJB Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. Please provide the zone names only instead of the numbers.Unfortunately, $100 doesn't look as if it will be possible for the downtown/core zones for these dates, with HOTWIRE showing high rates across the board for these Fall dates.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
