After checking out other successful bids for Heathrow hotels, I bid $60 in London Airports, area 5, for 2 rooms October 26, 2012. Right off the bat, the Sheraton Skyline Hotel London Heathrow accepted the bid. With taxes, a little over $150.00 total. Not bad!

I then tried for 2 rooms on the return leg of the trip, November 8th. Tried $55 to start. Rejected. Added area 3 and bid $60. Rejected again. I'll wait a while and try again later.
