steran12 Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 I'm looking for a 4* in Manhattan on 9/13 (1 night), preferably mtw, ts, or mte. What strategy do you recommend I use and approximately how much should I expect to pay? Thanks

steran12 Posted August 29, 2012 Author Report Posted August 29, 2012 The old Vegas thread is completed.
thereuare Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 Can you please add another reply to your Priceline Las Vegas thread indicating if you got the Mirage thru bidding OR thru their 'retail' service where the name of the hotel and room rate were shown prior to your purchase? For your NYC stay, currently rates for these dates are very expensive and although i'd start lower, i think you may be looking at least $250+ for a 4* hotel in one of the zones you're indicated. Is this in line with your budget OR do you want to discuss other viable options? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Please keep all posts for the same trip in the same thread. For the HOTWIRE hotel my guess would be the Helmsley New York. For PRICELINE, to confirm, did you want to try for a 4* first up to your budget OR try for the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? (NOTE: at 3.5* and under some hotels in the MTE zone can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway, make sure you're comfortable with this before bidding 3.5* in the MTE zone). At both the 4* and 3.5* level you have SIX re-bid zones in NYC. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTW...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* TS...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and TS...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and MTW and TS...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $205, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $210, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $215, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $220, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $225, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $230If you wanted to try for a 4* first up to your limit you could try the above and if rejected simply close the current browser, use this board PRICELINE link to re-access PRICELINE, and re-try at the 3.5* level. If your goal is the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay, simply use 3.5* above instead of 4*.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
