Hello, We are planning to go on a vacation to Hawaii and I need to book flight, hotel and car. So my question is: Is it cheaper to book this as a package on Priceline , Expedia... or Would be cheaper if I bid for a hotel and purchase flight and car as a package?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Usually the savings of using PRICELINE for the hotel (and car rental) is enough to make buying each service 'ala carte' a better deal than a package, but of course the length of stay would how much better (if at all).

1) Find the best deal you're able for a package.

2) Separately find the cost of a flight (ala carte) and car rental ala carte (you can use HOTWIRE for the car rental cost)

3) Subtrace the total of #2 from the package deal of #1... this your total hotel budget, anything less than this would be savings and a better deal than a package

What are the dates of your trip? What is the cost of airfare? What type of car do you need? What class of hotel are you seeking?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (or our Expedia link for checking the package deal)

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Travel Dates : Sep 22nd to Sep 28th

Hotel class : 4 stars

Airfare : about $1200 for 2

We are leaning towards using our miles on AA for our vacation and moreover there is a promotion of $200 off if we purchase the vacation package before Aug 31st.

Appreciate your inputs. Thank you
