Hi,

Could someone kindly advise on a bidding strategy for NYC hotels? I'll be there from 12 to 17 Nov 2012, and not fussy about which area to stay in as long as its in Manhatten (excluding Financial District and Harlem). I have the Verve as a back up at 150USD per night, so would like to try for a lower rate then this, probably starting at 100USD and going up to 140USD for a 3.5 star to 4 star hotel.

Not sure if the period i'm travelling is a peak period? And are my rates too low?

Thanks in advance!

To avoid any confusion, please list the zones that you are willing to accept (rather than the ones you won't accept)

Above you state that the hotel needs to be in Manhattan, but your back-up hotel is not... is it not worth any more to you to stay directly in Manhattan and are a higher rated hotel vs. your back-up?

...going up to 140USD for a 3.5 star to 4 star hotel.

We can try whatever you'd like, but at current rates i think $140 is going to fall short for a 3.5* or better hotel in Manhattan (excluding the Financial District and Harlem). More likely you're looking at $170-$190 for a 3.5*... although $130-$150 may be enough for a 3* property.

Based upon the above let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
