Priceline Hotel: Newbie to Priceline/Hotwire help with Boston 9/11-9/14

Hi All, I'm new to the forum and first want to say that this site is an excellent resource for newbies like myself to try and find the best deal possible.

I'm traveling w/ my wife and young child to Boston for vacation and was hoping someone could walk me through bidding on Priceline/Hotwire.

Here's what we are looking for:

1.) $200 max

2.) We'd like a 4 star rated

3.) Willing to stay in Boston Common/Theater District, Cambridge-Harvard west, Beacon Hill

Could you provide any detailed suggestions as to how to strategically place my bid?

To begin, note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. Is this a risk you're willing to accept? If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)

Also, are you familiar with Boston and know that those are the best zones for your needs, as those aren't the zones that are typically bid at the onset for the average user.
