* Tried PRICELINE first. Bid 4* Downtown $85 then $95 with no success.

* Decided to go ahead with the guaranteed offer for the top-rated Westin at $115, rather than attempt to save at most $15 and risk getting the middling-quality Marriott.

* Already had backup res. as the Westin for $190. Current retail rates are $249.

So, big savings!
