Bid four stars in Millenium Part area at 150. Accepted.

I was asked if I wished to extend, which I did at the same price. The same price, ie. 150, was denied, but I was offered to extend from 9/1 to 9/2 at $399.

Out of my range, so now I need a hotel room for the night of 9/1 to 9/2.

Unfortunately, with this win, I'm seeing the Burnham for $129 on Expedia for 9/2-3. I'd call PRICELINE and ask for the Best Price Guarantee (http://travela.priceline.com/promo/feature/BEST_PRICE_GUARANTEE/), and then if they give you a coupon for your next stay, turn around and use that for 9/1, which is the problematic night.

I will say that this is a great, great property and an architecturally significant/neat hotel - it's one of the first skyscrapers and was restored down to the smallest detail when it became a hotel a while back. I'd say it's one of the very best (and again, architecturally neat) 4*'s in the city.

Thank you so much, Aaron, for this most helpful advice. I'm delighted with the win, but of course I'd like to get the best possible deal on this property. I am on the phone with them now. I'll let you know what happens.

Ok, it took some time, but they tracked down the cheaper price on the property on Expedia. Not only did I get a refund for the discrepancy on my card plus the $25 BPG but also I got $50 in bonus cash on my account which theoretically I can redeem on my next purchase. I have maxxed my bidding on the problematic date for today, but I will use this $ towards my next bid and let you know how things go. Thank you again. You rock! :)

Following up on this reward money, which I tried to redeem yesterday in my bids. I put in a generous bid for a total of $200 which was denied as priceline told me that I had already redeemed the $30. Because the free money was voided, my bid was rejected. I don't know whether my bid would've been accepted otherwise. I've complained and I'm waiting for the response.
