duplicating a bid las vegas

i just found this site after returning from las vegas> i had won a priceline bid for las veas south of strip 4 star and stayed at the south point. I thought it was a good bargain and would like to repeat again in november with another couple. I looked at the priceline hotel list, and the only 4 star listed in the area is the south point. here is my two part question :

is it really that simple? bid a 4 star las vegas south and get the south point?

2nd, how far out timeframe should i bid?

I'm looking to go nov 14th for 3 nights/ 2 rooms.
