Priceline Hotel: Helping with strategy - NYC 09/13-09/16

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Priceline and the bidding system. I've been reading all the tips here on the website and tried to bid on Priceline, but still I had no luck so far.

I wonder if anyone could help me with a strategy to get my offer accepted by Priceline.

I'm staying in New York from 09/13 to 09/16 (3 nights).

I'd like to stay in a 4* hotel in one of these areas:

Times Square

MTW

CPS

Soho

Chelsea

I was hoping to get something below $180 per night (no taxes included), but my bids weren't accepted so far. Do you think I have any chances with this budget.

Or it would be more realistic to work on the $200 budget?

Any help will be very appreciated.

I would raise your bid to the $200 level as based upon current rates that would still be considered a nice deal for these dates... i actually think it may take $250+ for a 4* hotel for these dates.

Is there a reason you're not including MTE and/or ESB in your bidding, as these are popular and frequently bid zones at the 4* level, and including all acceptable zones gives more hotels a chance to accept your bid (which improves your chances of getting a good deal)

If you'd like help with a bidding strategy please confirm if only your original zones are acceptable OR if you'd also like to include either/both MTE or ESB, as well as confirm your maximum bid, and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
