Cautiously optimisitc here. Hotel is probably the best location in SF, right on the north side of Union Square. Hotel is undergoing renovations, so I will try to see if I can score a renovated room. The renovated rooms are really nice!

Bidding:

* Used BiddingHelper.com.com for all searches, bids, and purchase, as always.

* Began bidding USE + SOMA-MC at $125.

* Rebid in increments of $5.

* At $160, receieved a counter-offer of $192. Having plenty of rebid zones left, I declined and continued bidding.

* Bid accepted at $170.

Notes:

* Two HOTWIRE properties matching the description of the Clift @ $152, and Parc 55 @ $160 were available, but I wasn't very enthusiastic about either.

* I generally avoid USW because there are a number of less-than-stellar 4* properties in that zone.

* Secretly hoping for the Intercontinental which was on Hotwire for $200.

* Not the best deal ever, but still a savings.

Oh, funny note: One of the current Hotwire customer reviews for the Parc 55 specifically mentions the name of the hotel in the review. LOL! Takes the guesswork out of it.
