Hotwire Hotel: Help with Location - DC OR IAD

Hello,

My family is visiting and will be flying from IAD. I want to take them to DC the day before....we have 2 boys ( 8 and 10) and a baby with a minivan. Would you recommend staying near IAD or in DC? We are looking for 4star at least.
