I need to book immediately 4* hotel for Tuesday August 21 for 1 night for canadaian side of Niagara Falls

I checked the hotel listing for Niagara Falls, Canada

And it lists all the 4* under St Catharines area. But when I go on priceline bidding site, it shows NO 4* on St Catheranes area. The only 4* is in Niagara Falls, ON area not St Catharines area, so why is it???

I need a 2 queens bedroom since we are 3 people. There's only 5 of the 4* hotels in Niagara Falls on the normal search on Priceline on Aug 21.

Doubletree

Marriot Gateway

Marriot Fallsview

Hilton Fallsview

Shearton at the Falls

Now I know that priceline only gaurantees 1 bed room, but I checked these 5 hotels and the first 3 dont even have a 1 bed room, they are all 2 queens.

But the problem is with the Hilton and Sheraton.

The Hilton has king room for $170, but the 2 queens room for $160 so the room with 2 queens that I want is cheaper. Is it possible if I bid I will get the more expensive king room that I dont want??

As for the Sheraton it has only 1 king room but for $180! So I doubt I will get this since its the most expensive of the 5 hotels. But is it possible I may get this room? Marriot and Doubletree are $160

One last thing....if I bid on 2 rooms, will it give me both rooms in same hotel or it can give each in a different hotel?

I would highly appreciate your response asap. Thank you in advance

If it's listed as "St. Catharines - Niagara (Niagara Falls)" then 'St. Catharines - Niagara' is the region... which contains the 'Niagara Falls' zone. If you were looking at 'St. Catharines' that would fall under the 'St. Catharines - Niagara (St. Catharines - Thorold)' heading.

If you bid on two rooms at the same time they will be at the same hotel.

As far as your other questions/points regarding the room assignment, you could receive any room at the hotel that accommodates double occupancy. If you need two beds in the room then PRICELINE is a risky proposition. You can potentially lessen the risk by checking room types at given properties in the zone, if one bed vs. two bed rooms cost the same at the given hotels or if it's considered an upgrade, etc, etc... but none of this will eliminate the possibility of receiving a room with only one bed. As well, 'retail rates' have not been a reliable indicator of which hotel you will receive, so i wouldn't discount the Hilton simply because it is the most expensive hotel in the bunch... we have even seen hotels won when the hotel's website was otherwise showing a sold-out situation (this is much more the exception then the rule, but it does happen)

The safest way is to book HOTWIRE for 3adults OR bid PRICELINE for two rooms... others it's a calculated risk, which you and your friends will need to decide if its worth taking.
