Tried $49 a night first -- what someone had used to win several months ago. It was rejected, and I took the offer to get the bid accepted for $63 -- the same price I could have used for the "express" method where you don't actually bid.

I'm happy with the Courtyard Marriott -- they are good hotels, and I will like this better than the Best Western by the Allentown/Bethlehem airport that I got on Hotwire a few weeks ago for around the same price.
