Using all the strategies offered by this website and bidding via the link on this site to PRICELINE, finally got an airport hotel for $97 for January 2nd, the night before our 6:30am flight to catch our cruise. We needed a hotel with a 24 hour shuttle, one that could take us just minutes to the hotel at 3:30 am!

Over 4 days, I tried bidding from $70, in various increments. This hotel is one block from my husband's office and we will park our car for free, in the company parking lot for our 10 days south. We particularly wanted the Crowne Plaza hotel because of this handy location. I realize there was no guarantee we would get it.

MONTREAL DORVAL is Zone 2 (the one I wanted) ~ I did some researching of hotel reviews (and calling to check what time shuttle runs started) and decided I wouldn't want a hotel lower than 3.5 stars.

Zone 1 and 3 both had 3.5 and 4 stars (ruled this one out for bidding)

Zone 4, 5, 6, and 7 had up to only 3 stars (I used these zones each time a bid was not accepted, to get another chance to bid, since my dates were unchangeable)
