cjmorris08 Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Hi!My husband and I are traveling to Boston to see a Red Sox game September 7 to 10. We are looking for the best hotel for the lowest price... like everyone else! I've heard that Boston hotels are expensive... and I am new to Priceline.I am looking to stay in the following areas:Beacon hillBoston commonBoston harbourfrontQuincy marketI would prefer staying in a 3* / 31/2* / 4* hotel and remain around $100/night... We'll see how that goes! That being said, I would, of course, prefer to stay in a 4* hotel, if it were to cost me $110, but I would really like to stay within my original budget and as close to downtown as possible, even if that means staying in a 3*.Any help in this regard would be much appreciated!
thereuare Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Unfortunately rates are somewhat high for your dates and at the moment you're likely looking at ~$150 for a 3* hotel in one of the zones above. You can probably spend about the same amount but get a 4* hotel if you expand your zones to include Cambridge, but this is a little outside of 'downtown proper'. If SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is an option (may not be due to only a 3 nite stay) you can probably do a bit better for the first nite of your stay, but the last 2 nites will be as expensive as mentioned above. There are a few conferences taking place during your dates above, and while none are big by themselves, as they are take place concurrently they total about 5K attendees which does have an effect on the Boston hotel market (as they don't have a lot of hotel rooms for a city this size)Using BiddingHelper.com and/or MAPS and HOTELS.com, what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
