Any help is much appreciated!

Sorry, I think I posted this in the wrong place before. I am learning the forum, and will use the links as suggested.

I found an offer on Hotwire for a 4* London (Kensington - Earls Court), for $116 for Sept. 16-21, 2012.

Reading this forum, I was thinking that this is probably the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum, however the amenities are not as plentiful as the last person posted who got this hotel.

Here are the amernities that hotwire is showing for the hotel they are offering for $116:

-High Speed internet access

-Fitness Center

-Tennis Near By

-Business Center

-Restaurant(s)

Any help ID'ing would be much appreciated! I have been bidding for several days on priceline for the Mayfair / SOHO, and Westminster areas up to $131 for a 4* with no luck thus far.

I decided to take the gamble and buy the deal...

Pretty disappointed actually. I ended up with the Hilton London Kensington. Came out to $145/night with taxes. Hotels.com had it for just $30 more retail price, not much of a savings. I didn't even think that this hotel was a possibility since the list on this site has it as a 3.5*, and the hotwire deal stated 4*.

Unfortunately, the hotel gets lackluster reviews, and is FAR out from where I wanted to be. Really, it isn't even in the area that would be considered Kensington on any normal london map.

This is my first time using hotwire, and I feel pretty bad about the experience. I definitely will never be using it again.

Now on a different note, does anyone know of ANY way to cancel a hotwire booking. Like when hotwire changes a 3.5* hotel to a 4* even when customer reviews are declining.

My first trip to London is not looking as bright as it was a few days ago. I should have just paid a little more and booked through a legitimate site like hotels.com

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the results with this one, but thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us update the Hotwire Hotel List with the new star rating for this property.

You can try to contact HOTWIRE and let them know that the reviews you have found are disappointing and not what you expect from a 4* hotel, but with both Expedia and Travelocity both rating this property 4*, i think it will be an uphill battle (vs. if you found these sites to rate this property 3.5* or less)

Enjoy your stay... hope it goes better than expected.
