As long as it's 4* and in manhattan, it doesn't really matter where exactly we go, but it would be swell if we could keep it under $250/room/night. That said, CPS, UES are our preferred neighborhoods. Impossarus? Could you suggest the best bidding strategy? Thank you! Thank you!

Is it important that I do every single one of the recommended steps? THat is, am I wasting time with lowball bids that don't have a shot, or does a preponderance of lowball bids increase the likelihood of eventually getting a more moderate bid approved?Also, is it better to do the bidding all in one sitting, or doesn't that matter (and I did read the helpful section on rebids within 24 hours so i get the zone issues; thanks)?
thereuare Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 You need not do all the bids above, but we usually try to start as low as possible so if there is a room available at an unsually low rate you'll be able to pick it up and not overbid.Each bid is independent and your acceptance is not dependent upon making lower (failed) bids first.You should do all the bidding in one session, or if you only get half way thru it, you should start over the next time you bid (assuming it's 24+ hours later)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck on your future bids.
