AaronJB Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. My guess would be the Hyatt on Wacker.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
lcdc Posted August 14, 2012 Author Report Posted August 14, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. My guess would be the Hyatt on Wacker.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.I was afraid of that. Not much of a deal since I can get 2 queens at the Hyatt for $199 through a regular Priceline booking. Any suggestions for getting a better deal for triple-quad occupancy during this insanely expensive weekend we picked?
AaronJB Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 I'm seeing an added $50 extra person fee w/the $199 for the Hyatt on Expedia and the hotel website is showing $249. Unfortunately, there's not much else in the city - what appears to be the Hotel Indigo is showing for $197 and I'm seeing what appears to be the Doubletree Mag Mile for $208. That's really about it in terms of HOTWIRE - there are only 5 downtown listings showing for these dates when searching for 4a. Let us know if the Indigo or Doubletree would be of interest. If you are driving, you can get a 4* in the suburbs a relatively easy drive from a train line for $67 per night, but then it's a 35-42 minute train ride downtown (although the Metra trains do not run as often, they are pretty nice/comfortable.) The suburbs are nice, but I wouldn't recommend them if you aren't driving.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
lcdc Posted August 15, 2012 Author Report Posted August 15, 2012 Ended up getting the Hyatt for $165 by bidding on Priceline. Called Hyatt customer service and requested 2 queens. Hopefully we won't all be in one bed! Will post on priceline board. Thanks for the help!
lcdc Posted August 15, 2012 Author Report Posted August 15, 2012 Been trying for days. Started too low for the busy time of year. Started today at $159, rejected, but offered to let me have it for $189 (this was new, usually just rejects)Added rebid zone $162, rejectedAdded rebid zone $165, accepted
AaronJB Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal for this Hyatt property during a very busy period - while there's no guarantees due to how busy this period is, this is the largest property in the city so chances of availability of two beds are reasonably good and hopefully the hotel will be willing to work with you. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
