traverer Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Started from $60, tried several times, and it still was rejected at $80.
thenewbie Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Welcome! 3* properties haven't been reported recently for the Copley area and 4* properties usually need bids higher than $80 for Copley. Is there any reason you didn't bid on the downtown area? It typically is cheaper than Copley and Hotwire is showing a 4* for $117 in Quincy Market (Restaurant, Fitness, Internet, Business Ctr.) What will you do if you are unsuccessful at $80? If you haven't bid for downtown yet and would like assistance, please let us know what the maximum amount you are willing to spend.
traverer Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Posted August 3, 2005 I finally got the deal! (see the previous posting for detail)I Tried... Cambridge-Brookline, Copley 4* 8.7.05-8.9.05 $85and it took the bid first time around. The Hotel@MIT was going for $150 at their own and some other websites.
traverer Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Posted August 3, 2005 You are very kind! Thank you. Parking is the reason. The downtown/theater district/financial district (South Station area) can be hectic if you have a car. I do not mind Copley area since there are several places around Copley where I can park for "free" for a few days. I later rebid and got 4* Cambridge-Brookline (Hotel@MIT) for $85. Please let me know if I can be an assistant to you!
