nzpod Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Hi all,Looking for a 1 room in Phoenix on 4th Jan 2013. Hoping for 4* in Downtown, North Scottsdale or Scottsdale. Maybe $80US a night. Will any of the hotels have free parking? Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Will any of the hotels have free parking? You might get Free Parking in the Scottsdale or North Scottsdale zone but you can't guarantee, or only bid on a hotel with free parking, with PRICELINE. If this is a requirement then you should use/search HOTWIRE and choose a hotel that offers Free Parking as a listed amenity. The trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.Let us know if/how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nzpod Posted August 9, 2012 Author Report Posted August 9, 2012 If I get a cheap hotel then paying for parking is not a big deal.Whats the best tactic to get a 4* hotel for under $80 in Phoenix? Thanks
thereuare Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 When bidding 4* in Phoenix you have NINE re-bid zones. nzpod Posted November 15, 2012 Author Report Posted November 15, 2012 So I bid up to $87 with no luck. Looking for rooms in Downtown and Scottsdale for a 4* room.Shall I wait?Cheers
Romelle Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 Up in the PRICELINE FAQ is a nice discussion on timing one's bids. Essentially, there just is no way of telling what rates might do. If you are thinking of holding off until the last minute (day? week?), then a good idea is to make a cancelable back-up reservation.HOTWIRE currently has a 4* in Scottsdale for $100 and a 4* in downtown for $127. That suggests your $87 is close. And they both list free parking as an amenity. Romelle
thereuare Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel in one of these zones? (if you click-thru the rate is it refundable?)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
