cwstarks Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 I'm new to the forum so my apologies in advance for the elementary question.I am looking for a 4* in San Diego (Downtown) and I know that there are a number of re-bid zones in the area for 4*. Does the site keep a comprehensive list of rebid zones or are there other posts that I can reference to see what areas are available for the rebid zones.Again, my apologies for the question - once I am comfortable navigating the site, I hope to not have as many questions!Thank you in advance for your reply.UPDATE - I found how to check the star's in the zones - thank you! New question - is there any way to determine if any of the rebid zones have a RESORT in it as I got burned last year in Vegas when I rebid with a zone that had a resort in it and did not know. THANK YOU again for your replies. :D
slruud Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Not a mod here, but a Priceline user. Understanding how to determine rebid zones is essential because they can change at any time. What you do after you are presented with the Priceline screen that shows all the zones, is click on one at a time and record those that don't have 4*....you are looking for a 4*, correct. Any zone that does not have a 4* will have it greyed out, hence a safe rebid zone. Check all the zones and then you are ready to bid. Good luck.
thereuare Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 cwstarks,Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't seen it yet, this is a good read: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedWhen bidding 4* in San Diego you have FOURTEEN re-bid zones. Free free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board. If you've read the link above and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. One point to be aware of (and perhaps why you 'got burned' last year in Vegas) is that when there are Resorts in a given region, they list resorts under the '1 star' heading, although in terms of the PRICELINE hierarchy they should be treated as 4.5* properties. (although not applicable for this stay since there are currently no Resort rated hotels offered in San Diego... if you do a PRICELINE search for 'Las Vegas' using the search box on the top right corner of the board you'll see how the 'Resort' category is listed under the 1 star in the list. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Once you've confirmed and/or are comfortable with your re-bid zones let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
