MOB6363 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Sorry, first time using priceline and have a few questions. Going to Chicago 9-13 to 9-15. I put in my first bid of $80 and it was rejected. However, when I tried a second time it asked if I wanted to change stars, travel dates, and location of hotel. I could not just change the price. Did I do something wrong. I don't want to change star of hotel, travel dates or general location. Thanks for any help. I did change the stars and location of hotel, but when I try again tomm I want to see if there is a way around that. Thanks!

MOB6363 Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 I would like to be magnificent mile/loop district near the shopping. I first put in one area and then added another had it at 4 stars and then added 3-1/2. Bidded up to 90, no results. I would like to ideally keep it around $100 per night. Any suggestions?
AaronJB Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 The Loop district is South of the river (The Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park area on PRICELINE) while the Mag Mile area is part of the River North-NMA area on PRICELINE and North of the river. Can you confirm which zone/s would be acceptable?Unfortunately, these are expensive dates and a 3.5/4* bid is likely going to take significantly higher - HOTWIRE has 3.5/4*'s downtown for about $200 and up.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

AaronJB Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Is this for the same dates discussed in this additional Hotwire Chicago thread?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

MOB6363 Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 I have no idea, first time for me posting about it. It is for dates 9-13 through 9-15Okay, I just clicked on the link, yep same person, still trying to find a hotel for those dates and no luck. I see people getting hotels for cheap, but I cannot seem to do the same. The above post is a deal that hotwire is offering, I did not have to name my price, just curious if anyone knows which hotel it maybe.
AaronJB Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Please keep all posts regarding this stay within this thread. I would be very concerned about a listing that shows a 50% approval rating from HOTWIRE customers purchasing at a discounted rate. This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but my guess is either the Congress or Travelodge.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
MOB6363 Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 Thanks Aaron for your reply. I will keep trying to get a good deal.
AaronJB Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 What are you looking for in terms of budget? Are you driving in? It's not the most optimal to have to take the train in, but it would be way cheaper.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
