travenbjj Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Would like to stay in MTE, downtown, Times Square, and spend around $200 or less per night. Is this going to be possible for a nicer hotel? Would I get a deal if I booked 2 rooms?

thereuare Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 Would like to stay in MTE, downtown, Times Square, and spend around $200 or less per night. Is this going to be possible for a nicer hotel? This should be enough, but if not, may take another $10 or so... you're certainly in the right ballpark. However, have you been to NYC before, as 'downtown' is usually not the most preferred zone for users as it is at the south end of Manhattan, and midtown is usually more preferred as a central location. Downtown is certainly do-able, and for the right price worthwhile, but unless you have reason to stay downtown midtown is often a better choice. At the 4* level in midtown MTE, MTW, TS, CPS and ESB typically all work well for the average user... please confirm which zone(s) you're willing to accept and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.Would I get a deal if I booked 2 rooms? With PRICELINE you're usually already getting a deal... i think what you mean is will you get a better deal. ;) Usually booking 2 rooms is a non-factor, but when it is, it is usually a negative one since the hotel with the lowest priced inventory needs to have loaded into the system more than one room at that rate. Please confirm the zone(s) you're willing to accept, and if we can go up to a $210 bid or should stick with your $200 limit, and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
